Any SysOp that makes Zip_Mail, RA/QMX, XOR or equivalent mailbag packer
for my XRS offline reader/editor available for users on their BBS may
receive a free registration passkey file for their own personal copy of
XRS - the "eXpress Response System" offline reader/editor program. All I
need for you to do is print out the registration page in your REGISTER.DOC
file and send it end to me with your zone:net/node address - please state
"Free Key for SysOp" clearly on the form, and mail it to me at the given
address, or you may netmail it to me at 372/666 or 372/888 (both HST_14400
equipped) or 372/555 - a Hayes V9600 unit (all three are the same system -
just different nodes...). That file - REGISTER.RAQ - is inside the beta
version 1.23 zip file RAQMX123.ZIP - note that you must be listed in any
network nodelist (if you are foreign to "FidoNet" or "EggNet" or "BBSNet"
you may have to provide me with a nodelist segment to validate your
"SysOp" status).
I will return your key via netmail to the address given after verifying
the given name in the current nodelist (I have access to all of the major
networks' nodelists). If you are "brand new" an not yet in the nodelist,
I will send your passkey number as soon as you are listed.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration provides you with an eight-digit hexidecimal
registration password which you insert into a keyfile. Unlocking XRS will
not provide any additional features! Unlocked copies do not pause to ask
for a random four hex digit number when run, eliminate the blinking "Demo
Copy" reminder at the bottom of the screen, and disable a few beeps.
The "passkey" will work for all past, current and future versions of XRS.
I ask for a $20 registration for users of XRS that decide to use XRS more
than 30 days to "test-drive" it, although there is nothing in the program
to stop them from using it forever. It contains no crippled routines nor
disabled features whatsoever when run in unregistered form! (as a matter
of fact - it has a few extra features! <grin>...) XRS notes the absense
of registration on the tear line, since registered copies always have a
plus given "+" after the version number. XRS will also show a minus "-"
sign if it is used after their thirty day free-trial license expires plus
more than two weeks (i.e. on the 45th day and after).
I appreciate your support and ask that you send me suggestions on what you
would like to see in one of the Zip_Mail, RA/QMX or XOR BBS mailbag packers
and XRS - the "eXpress Response System" offline reader/editor! To date, I
have implemented almost every good suggestion I have received in the XRS
program.
Many thanks to my beta testers! Without them, QMX would never have been...
RA/QMX and XRS are both distributed via SDS "Software Distribution System".
All non-beta copies are available from SDS nodes! Beta versions are here
at 1:372/888, from Ed Meloan (1:360/1) and from Miles Hoover (1:109/124)
among others - all of these nodes have HST modems! Also, available at 9600
V.32/V.42/V.42bis from my 1:372/666 node, which is a Hayes V9600 "Ultra".
Note that unregistered beta copies of XRS will not run! You must be a
valid registered user to execute these versions. RA/QMX contains no such
check for this restriction since it is provided completely free of cost,
although the copyright is retained be me, and all rights are reserved!
